Grove & Grain
Solid wood · Hand-joined · Built to outlive us

Furniture with grain, grip, and a good long life.

Each piece is cut from responsibly sourced hardwood and joined by hand in our workshop — no veneers, no particleboard, no shortcuts. Just timber that gets better with every year.

Our Story

Built by hand, meant to be lived on

Grove & Grain started in 2016 in a drafty barn workshop in the Hudson Valley, with two chisels, a secondhand lathe, and a stubborn belief that furniture should last longer than the people who buy it.

We work only in solid hardwood — white oak, black walnut, ash, and cherry — sourced from FSC-certified forests within a day's drive. Every joint is cut with traditional mortise-and-tenon or dovetail joinery, then finished with plant-based hardwax oils that you can refresh at home, not a factory.

No flat-pack cams. No hidden staples. Just honest pieces that patina beautifully and can be repaired, refinished, and handed down.

Why Grove & Grain

Six promises we build into every piece, whether you'll ever notice them or not.

Solid Hardwood Only

No veneers or MDF anywhere — every surface, leg, and panel is full-thickness kiln-dried hardwood.

Hand-Cut Joinery

Mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints, cut by our makers. Stronger than screws and beautiful up close.

FSC-Certified Timber

Sourced from responsibly managed North-American forests, within a day's drive of the workshop.

Natural Oil Finish

Plant-based hardwax oils — food-safe, low-VOC, and refreshable at home with a cloth and an afternoon.

White-Glove Delivery

Delivered fully assembled and placed in your room. No flat-pack, no Allen keys, no stray dowels.

25-Year Warranty

We stand behind the joinery for a quarter century — and repair, not replace, whenever we can.

What Our Owners Say

Real notes from people living with their pieces every day.

★★★★★
"We bought the Brookline dining table for our first home and honestly plan to be buried with it. Three years, two toddlers, countless spills — it just develops more character. The oil finish means I sand out the odd scratch myself in ten minutes."

"The Aldwin lounge chair is the single best furniture purchase I've made. You can feel the difference the moment you sit — no wobble, no creak, just solid walnut. White-glove delivery carried it up four flights without a word of complaint."

"We furnished a small boutique hotel entirely with Grove & Grain. Guests ask about the pieces constantly. They survive daily use, look better each season, and the team helped us spec custom sizes for tricky rooms. Worth every cent."
